NYFA Degrees
Degrees were bestowed upon students by their Department Chairs.

Congratulations to the MFA, BFA, and Two-Year Program graduates of Film, Photography, and Acting disciplines at New York Film Academy Los Angeles who received their degrees this past Saturday, May 24th. An audience of family and friends gathered in a Warner Bros. Studios theater for the momentous occasion. Chairs from each of the graduating students’ departments including Mike Civille (Filmmaking), Bobbi Fabian (Photography), and Lynda Goodfriend (Acting) addressed the students, applauding their achievement and offering words of advice for the future. Commencement Speaker Julie Ann Larson (Producer of The Drew Carey Show and Last Man Standing with Tim Allen, and Executive Producer of the Chelsea Handler written Are You There, Chelsea?) gave a humorous and profound speech in which she emphasized the value of higher education having come from a family in which nobody, including herself, had the opportunity to attend college.

In a happy twist, the Dean of Students (Eric Conner), before giving the Closing Remarks, presented a deeply touched Mrs. Larson with an Honorary Degree in the Discipline of Producing for her extraordinary accomplishments. We are extremely proud of NYFA LA’s most recent graduates and wish them the very best in their upcoming endeavors!
