As an official sponsor for the Miss USA competition, we congratulate Miss Rhode Island, Olivia Culpo, for taking the crown in 2012. Roughly 250 million viewers watched this 19 year old sophomore at Boston University take the crown. Did you know she’s been on the Dean’s List every semester of her college career? It’s great to see a role model who boasts brains with that tremendous amount of beauty. As an institution, the reigning Miss USA travels the country promoting the notable sectors of industry and charitable causes. As the winner, we are offering Miss Culpo a one-year scholarship to our school which includes full tuition, room, and board. We’re especially excited about how artistically minded our newly crowned Miss USA is. A cellist for 13 years and counting, she’s won a seat at New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall. Perhaps she’ll enroll into our musical theatre program in order to capitalize on her background and develop herself as an actress? Another beauty queen, Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza definitely took advantage of our sponsorship and jumped into a career in TV and film through Celebrity Apprentice. And what about Crystal Stewart? She took the crown in 2008 and is now working with Tyler Perry and headlining a sitcom on TBS. We look forward to working with you, Olivia!
