One-Week
Video Game Design Tuition: $1,575
The One-Week Video Game Design Camp is designed to give students who are interested in a career in the video game industry an introduction to the art of writing and designing games. During this rigorous, weeklong session, students learn what makes games great by playing, deconstructing, and analyzing hit games. Artists introduce them to the world of Maya 3D Art. Industry professionals teach students about the games industry and what the role of the writer / designer is. Hands-on workshops and labs help students take a video game idea from the "lightbulb" stage to a fully fleshed out game design document - the creative blueprint of every game.
Is game design the career for you? Find out in our one-week program!
All students enrolling in the One-Week Video Game Design Camp should be aware that this is an introductory course. The limitations of a one-week course should be apparent, given that most video games take a year to 18 months to develop. Nonetheless, the goal of our one-week game design camp is to give students as deep an understanding as possible into the world of writing and designing video games.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
All students exit the one-week camp with a deep understanding of how to design a great video game. Students will have a basic portfolio of the art they’ve created in the game art lab. And every student will leave with a polished, "shovel ready" Game Design Document, the creative blueprint of a video game. Game Design Documents are used by game publishers to select projects for development, and to guide a game’s design team as they take the game from "big idea" to "finished product."
