People to People Leadership Summit:
Film & Acting at NYFA
Each summer the Film Academy is host to the People to People Leadership Summit: Film & Acting. As part of the 10-day experience, students spend two days at the Film Academy learning about the craft of filmmaking and acting for film and have the opportunity to work with cameras, act, shoot scenes and edit material on the Academy’s state-of-the-art-equipment at our location at Universal Studios in California. It’s a two-day boot camp in moviemaking. In addition to learning the filmmaking process, students will also have a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes of the one of the greatest film studios in the world.
The New York Film Academy is honored to be the acting and film school of choice of many Hollywood filmmakers and actors who have sent a son or daughter to study with us. They include Steven Spielberg, Kevin Kline, Al Pacino, Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Foxx, Jodie Foster, Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Bono(U2), directors Stephen Frears, Peter Bogdonavich, Roger Donaldson, James L. Brooks among others.
The New York Film Academy was founded on the philosophy that "learning by doing" combined with best industry practices is more valuable than years of theoretical study for filmmakers and actors. This educational model allows students to achieve more in less time then at all other acting and film schools in the world.
