Film & Acting Camps in Australia

Australia is a natural wonderland of beautiful beaches, crystal blue waters, amazing ancient rock formations and pristine rainforests.

Much of Australia's exotic flora and fauna cannot be found anywhere else in the world and the lifestyle is one second to none.

An international hub of film production, from The Matrix to Narnia, many blockbusters have been filmed in this "Hollywood Down-Under".

THE GOLD COAST

The Gold Coast is a holiday destination of wonderful contrasts - from the sophistication of Main Beach, the glamour of Surfers Paradise, action-packed theme parks and wildlife sanctuaries to championship golf courses, fabulous shopping and rainforest wonderlands right at the back door.

With over 300 days of sunshine annually, its no wonder the Gold Coast is the entertainment capital of Australia. Over 70 kilometers of the country’s best beaches, Warner Bros Movieworld, Dreamworld, Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo and Seaworld are all within easy reach. Students can explore the natural beauty of the Australian coastline, engage with native animals, or ride one of the world’s fastest rollercoasters.

The Gold Coast based Village Roadshow Studios have been locations for the Scooby Doo films, House of Wax, Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Daybreakers, and Fools Gold amongst many others.

Student productions take place throughout the Gold Coast’s beautiful locations and are done in the presence of a teaching assistant. Evening and weekend activities in and around the Gold Coast are organized and supervised by the Film Academy staff.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Although the camp’s daily schedule is demanding, students have time to explore the Gold Coast in organized evening and weekend activities. Byron Bay is a short drive south, and the cosmopolitan city of Brisbane just north. Students can laze on the pristine beaches, choose from 6 major themeparks, learn to surf, jetboat, get up close and personal with kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles, or swim with dolphins. The Gold Coast is renowned for its world-class restaurants and beach side cafes.

Attractions such as the Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country provide students with an action-packed taste of Australia’s history, while a trip to South Stradbroke Island enables students to engage in whale watching at the Australian Whale Sanctuary.

A unique mix of natural beauty and thrilling attractions, the Gold Coast provides the best Australia has to offer.

All apartments are two-bedrooms, with each student occupying their own private room with built-in wardrobe and individual bathroom. Apartments have a kitchen, living room and dining room and located directly across from the beach.

Expect to spend up to $250 per week on food.
