Overview

Before continuing, please read the following options to determine if you need to fill out the following materials.

  • I am outside the U.S. (Complete the I-20 application)
  • I am currently in the U.S., but will be returning to my home country before attending NYFA (Complete the I-20 application)
  • I am currently in the U.S. in student status and am attending another school (Contact us at international@nyfa.edu)
  • I am in the U.S. in another visa status and need to change my status (Contact us at international@nyfa.edu)
  • I do not need an I-20 Certificate as I am in another visa status that allows for study (Contact us at international@nyfa.edu)

Required Documents

In order to issue your I-20 Certificate, you will need to provide the following documents.

  • I-20 Questionnaire: Please download the I-20 Questionnaire here and you can either fax or email the completed questionnaire to one of the addresses at the bottom of this page.
  • Financial Verification Form: Please download the Financial Verification Form here and you can either fax or email the completed document to the one of the addresses at the bottom of this page.
  • Financial Documents: Provide either a current bank statement (as issued by the bank), a letter from a bank official certifying the amount on deposit, loan approval documents, proof of income from your sponsor, or other financial evidence that show that you have sufficient funds to pay the tuition and living expenses for your program. If any of the above documents are not in English, please provide a translation. In addition, if the amount is not in US dollars, please state the conversion of the currency and how you converted the amount.
  • Passport Copy: Please provide a copy of the page of your passport with your photo and birthdate.

Fees

The New York Film Academy International Student Fee is $150. This is not the fee for your visa application. You will pay an additional fee to apply for a visa, please contact the US Embassy in your country (non-immigrant visa section) for more information on the fees and method of payment.

The $200 SEVIS I-901 fee is required by the US Government to be paid for all I-20s. You can only pay this fee AFTER you have received your I-20. We will give you instructions on how you will pay this fee and get the receipt when your I-20 is sent to you. If you do not have a credit card or cannot print from your computer, then please let us know.
