Alaia Furniturewalla was born to a family of actors. Her grandfather is Kabir Bedi, a renowned Indian actor whose career spanned Asia, Europe, and the United States. Her mother, Pooja Bedi, is a Bollywood actress and popular television talk show host. In 2017, Furniturewalla graduated from New York Film Academy’s 1-year Acting for Film Conservatory in New York. There, she studied all the technical, emotional, and physical work necessary for film acting.

She was featured in Vogue India and made her professional acting debut with Saif Ali Khan in Jawaani Jaaneman, directed by Nitin Kakkar and co-starring Tabu, Chunky Pandey, and Kumud Mishra.
