New York Film Academy is conducting Auditions & Portfolio Reviews , Information Sessions, and One-on-One Meetings in Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey, Mexico.
Our Auditions & Portfolio Reviews offer applicants an opportunity to demonstrate their skills to our admissions representatives, in order to be eligible for a Talent Based Tuition Award on your NYFA tuition.
Our One-on-One Meetings and Information Sessions offer individuals an opportunity to learn about our programs, locations and our enrollment process.
Please prepare two contemporary, contrasting 60-90 second monologues from a published contemporary English language play or screenplay.
Please prepare two contrasting musical theatre songs with musical accompaniment on a USB, personal musical player (e.g. iPhone), and one 60-90 second monologue from a published contemporary English language play or screenplay.
Creative samples can be accepted in various stages of development, or as completed work. Examples of work can range from drawings, conceptual illustrations, short films, poetry, short stories, storyboards, designs, photographs, three-dimensional models, or digitally generated images. Students may choose to submit a typed screenplay or short story (10 page maximum).
***Your admission and/or Talent Based Tuition Award will be determined upon the final review of your audition/portfolio review. Auditions are required for acceptance for long-term programs in Acting for Film and Musical Theatre. Talent Based Tuition Awards are for long-term Acting and Musical Theatre Programs. Portfolio Reviews are for long-term programs in Filmmaking, Documentary Filmmaking, Media Studies, Photography, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Screenwriting, Graphic Design, 3D Animation & VFX, and Game Design. Portfolio Reviews for Talent Based Tuition Awards are for Degree Programs only. Programs 1-year or longer are considered long-term programs. To audition or to have your portfolio reviewed for the New York Film Academy, individuals must submit a program application. Applications can be submitted online or you can bring the application form to the audition. There is a $65 (US dollars) application fee required. All tuition awards will be based on talent.
The New York Film Academy offers talent based award on tuition, to selected applicants, based on their natural skills in their chosen discipline.
To schedule an appointment to meet with us one-on-one to be considered for a talent based discount, simply complete the Form on the right. Please indicate the event and time you would like to attend and a NYFA Admissions Representative will contact you to finalize the details.
Please note: we will require you to complete an application form prior to our scheduled meeting. Once you’ve indicated which event you would like to attend, an admissions representative will contact to you and be able to guide you on the process to submit an application.
Eligible programs for a partial discounted tuition include:
Degree programs: Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA), Master of Art (MA), and Bachelor of Art (BA).
Conservatory programs: One Year Conservatory Programs and Two Year Conservatory Programs.
