Galo Semblantes

Bio

DIRECTOR | PRODUCER | WRITER
Galo Semblantes was born as Galo Andrés Semblantes Valdez. He is an Ecuadorian producer and director, known for The Legend of Tayos (2021), American Dreams (2019), and Oblivion (2012). He founded the Ecuadorian production company, Non-Sequitur Films, which has produced several award-winning films.

Semblantes’ work on The Legend of Tayos resulted in an award for ‘Documentary Development Fund 2013’ from Cncine Ecuador. The Non-Sequitur film Project Heaven was an official selection at the Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival in 2014.

Semblantes is currently directing the film Mondo Hollywoodland (2021), a production by fellow NYFA alum, Janek Ambros.
