Joanne Kirsty Clifton is an English professional dancer, television presenter, actress, and singer whose repertoire speaks for itself. She won the World Ballroom Showdance Championship in 2013. Clifton also won the European Professional Ballroom Championship and the World Dancesport Games.

Additionally, Clifton appeared in 75 episodes of the BBC TV series Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from 2014 to 2022. She won the show’s 2016 championship. Clifton also appeared as herself on the British TV shows Lorraine (2016), Breakfast (2017), My Mixtape (2017), and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip (2017).

During her time on Strictly Come Dancing, Clifton appeared in the TV movies Strictly Len Goodman (2016) and The Strictly Story: Fake Tan, Tangos, & a 10 from Len (2017). Meanwhile, she also forayed into musical theatre, starring in the 2017 UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie as title character Millie Dismount. Clifton then co-starred with Duncan James, Stephen Webb, and Ben Adams in the 2019 UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show.

Clifton attended our 4-Week Musical Theatre and Acting for Film workshops at NYFA New York. She subsequently graduated from both programs in 2020. 

She then made her film acting debut in the short Truth Serum (2022), directed by Oliver Shuster and starring Olivia Vinall, Richard Gadd, and Killian Coyle.
