Wally PfisterCINEMATOGRAPHER

Wally Pfister is an Oscar-winning cinematographer and frequent collaborator of Christopher Nolan. In 2011, he won the Academy Award for his work on Inception, and later directed his first feature, Transcendence, starring Johnny Depp and written by NYFA instructor Jack Paglen. Pfister’s Q&A at NYFA’s Los Angeles campus was an energetic event full of excited students who lined up to ask the very game speaker as many questions as they could. Pfister told the students “You have to take risks,” he said. “That’s what will make your career last longer. You have to fight to get your vision on the screen (but not fight with your director).”
