Final Draft Advanced User Certification (Weekends Only)

Final Draft Advanced User Certification (Weekends Only)

Please Note: This is a 4-Week course that is held in four-weekend sessions, online via Zoom.

New York Film Academy, in partnership with Final Draft, is offering this one-of-a-kind Final Draft Advanced User Certification. This course certifies students in the advanced uses of Final Draft software that are used by Script Coordinators and Writers’ Assistants in writers’ rooms and television productions.

Students will learn about the basic, intermediate and advanced functions of Final Draft used by professional Script Coordinators. The class, built in conjunction with Final Draft, is a detailed how-to of the software, with a focus on functions that are used in a TV Writer’s Room.

Completion of the program, including successfully passing the final exam, will earn the student official Certification that Final Draft considers the holder to possess advanced skills in their software. Please note: This Certification in Final Draft is not a requirement for work as a Script Coordinator, Writers’ Assistant or any other job, nor does holding a certificate imply an advantage in gaining employment.

This course runs for four-weekend sessions, online via Zoom. Each weekend, there will be two hours of instruction, a break, then two more hours. The final exam will be a take-home exam given out after the final session and due the following week.

Students enrolling in this program are expected to arrive with a basic knowledge of Final Draft software.
