Learn Cinematography Online at NYFA

NYFA’s online cinematography workshops provide aspiring cinematographers with the opportunity to participate in live, immersive programs. In these programs, students will gain an introduction to techniques in lighting, composition, color theory, film, digital techniques, and camera movement and create their own original content. No prerequisites or prior experience is required to attend.

Online Cinematography Workshops

To accommodate all schedules, NYFA offers both online full-time and part-time workshops. Beginners will gain foundational cinematography skills and knowledge and more advanced students will have the opportunity to refine their craft. To learn more, request information from our admissions team.

Dates and Tuition

Equipment and
Technical Requirements

To attend our online cinematography workshops, students must have a reliable computer, external hard drive, strong internet connection, the free version of Davinci Resolve 16 Lite, and a quiet place to work. Students must provide their own digital camera for the program, cellphone with a strong camera will suffice. If a phone camera is used, we suggest, but not require, apps like Filmic Pro to be able to control manually the functions of the video camera of the phone.
