Tufts University – The Academy’s collaboration with Tufts University aims to directly engage visual arts students in engineering education and design. Three students had the opportunity to stay at Tufts for a one-week period and participated in workshops and classes teaching concepts in engineering design. The students completed a 3-minute visual story focusing on interviews with Tufts’ Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) faculty, student participants, and workshops.
The CEEO is a great example of STEM at work. The objective is to engage young minds in a process of critical thinking that makes learning more contextual. The program illustrates how engineering is a part of day-to-day life, affording students a better understanding of the engineering process.
Working with Tufts University’s CEEO program gives students the opportunity to understand how engineering permeates every aspect of our daily lives, including, for example, filmmaking. You can find out more about our students’ experience on our videos page.
