Online Summer Camps: Acting for Film for Kids

Application and payment deadline is at 4:00 p.m. EST the Thursday before the start of the program. Individuals who apply and/or pay past the deadline may be admitted on a case by case basis but may also experience a delay in receiving the necessary information to join the first class.

  • 1-Week

Camp Schedules

  • Classes are scheduled daily, Monday-Friday.
  • Students meet 4-hours per day at 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • You have the option to enroll in classes starting 10 a.m. Eastern Time or Pacific Time (both start time options are available through the application).

1-Week Kids Acting for Film Camp – Online

  • Tuition: $650 (USD)
  • Camp Hours: 10 sessions, total 20 hours
  • Campers will leave the program with:
    • One monologue, on tape, that is polished and ready for performance
    • Audition basics

Our 1-Week Online Acting for Film Camps for kids are the perfect opportunity for kids to shine as they experiment with on-screen performance and study fundamental acting techniques. At the New York Film Academy, kids learn by doing, working on scenes and monologues in front of the camera. 

Our 1-Week Online Acting for Film campers work one-on-one with instructors who are professional film, TV, and stage actors passionate about teaching real-world, hands-on lessons to young performers.

Each camper will complete one filmed monologue. Our innovative acting classes encourage kids to develop the techniques and confidence they need to create believable performances for the camera. Campers apply what they learn to on-camera exercises designed to encourage their screen acting ability.

Class Descriptions

Monologues –  Analyzing, Developing, Staging, personal connection, imaginary circumstances, rehearsals, performance, submitting self tape.

Improv – Students will explore play and storytelling as well as the basic tenets of improv.

Acting for Film – Acting for the frame size, reaction shots, the magic of editing, marks.

Business of Acting/Audition – The basics of audition technique and intro to the business.

2-Week Kids Acting for Film Camp – Online

  • Tuition: $1,300 (USD)
  • Camp Hours: 20 sessions, total 40 hours
  • Campers will leave the program with:
    • One Monologue, on tape, that is polished and ready for performance
    • Auditions basics
    • Self taped monologue
    • Taped audition exercises
    • Self taped scene with reader
    • Live performance through Zoom with scene partner

The New York Film Academy’s 2-week Online Acting For Film Camp gives kids the chance to discover or hone their acting chops. Throughout their time at the summer online acting for film camp, students will study fundamental acting techniques and practice them in front of their peers. By the end of camp, kids will gain a better understanding of the acting craft and the opportunity to showcase their own filmed monologues and scenes. 

Our summer acting camp for kids is led by professional actors in TV, film, and stage. These passionate professionals transfer their real-world expertise to the next generation of actors. During the two weeks, each camper will complete one taped monologue and scene.
