The Musical Theatre Broadways Songs for Kids camps are interactive, creative modules designed to help kids develop the skills needed to compete in the contemporary world of Musical Theatre. They consist of 6 hour modules (three modules offered in this discipline) which can be completed either after school or on Saturdays. If teens are taking the module after school, each module runs for one week. Saturday programs, each module run for four consecutive Saturdays. Students may enroll in all three modules or select and complete individual modules (students are not required to complete one module to attend the next).
For each module, there are two schedule options:
• One week for each module
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET
• Four consecutive Saturdays for each module
• Saturday at 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m ET
Tuition: $300 USD for each module
Module One: Choosing Repertoire
In module one, our Broadway coaches will get to know what makes each student unique and work with them to find exciting new musical selections for their personal repertoire. This will include in depth discussions of age appropriate roles and effective audition songs. Song selections will reflect the individual strength of the performer and each student will leave the class with recommendations and sheet music for multiple type-appropriate pieces covering a variety of musical theatre genres.
Module Two: Acting a Song
In module two, students will be coached by Broadway professionals to bring a musical theatre song of their choosing to life through storytelling elements. Focus of this course will be on exploring the fundamentals of text analysis and personal connection in order to craft an authentic, honest and unique performance that will set you apart from the rest.
Module Three: Fundamentals of Auditioning for Musical Theatre
In module three, students will learn the fundamentals of auditioning from Broadway performers/coaches in order to create unique, compelling auditions that showcase their strengths as a singing actor.
