Online Summer Camps: Acting for Film for Teens

Application and payment deadline is at 4:00 p.m. EST the Thursday before the start of the program. Individuals who apply and/or pay past the deadline may be admitted on a case by case basis but may also experience a delay in receiving the necessary information to join the first class.

Camp Durations

  • 1-Week (offered Eastern Time, Pacific Time and Asia Time Zones)
  • 3-Week (offered Eastern and China Standard Time)
  • 4-Week (offered Eastern Time, Pacific Time and Asia Time Zones)

Camp Schedules

 

Camps Scheduled for Eastern & Pacific Time 

  • Classes are scheduled daily, Monday-Friday.
  • Students meet 4-hours per day at 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • You have the option to enroll in classes starting 10 a.m. Eastern Time or Pacific Time (both start time options are available through the application). Broadcast Journalism is offered for Eastern Time only.

Camps Scheduled for Asia Time Zones

  • Classes are scheduled daily, Monday-Friday.
  • There will be two 2-hour classes per day with a 30 minute break in between each class.

    • Filmmaking for Teens – 1 & 4 weeks
    • Acting for Film for Teens – 1 & 4 weeks
    • 3D Animation for Teens – 3 Weeks


1-Week Teen Acting for Film Camp – Online

  • Tuition: $650 (USD)
  • Camp Hours: 10 sessions, total 20 hours
  • Campers will leave the program with:
    • Monologue that is polished and ready for performance
    • Several taped on camera exercises
    • Audition Basics

The New York Film Academy’s 1-Week Online Acting for Film Camp for teens was designed by our faculty of professional actors to immerse students in the specific craft of acting for film. Through in-class instruction and exercises with your smart devices, students receive ample experience in the principles of acting for film to establish a foundation as actors.

This online acting program is the perfect introduction to Acting for Film.  Students will learn how to choose and workshop monologues, apply Acting for Film fundamentals to scenes, learn how to think on their feet in Improv, and practice the basics of auditioning with the Business of Acting.  This unique experience is a wonderfully creative way to learn acting on an online platform.

Class Descriptions

Monologues – Choosing, Analyzing, Developing, Staging, personal connection, imaginary circumstances, rehearsals, performance.

Improv – Students will explore play and storytelling as well as the basic tenets of improv.

Acting for Film – Acting for the frame size, reaction shots, the magic of editing, marks.

Business of Acting/Audition – The basics of audition technique and intro to the business.

3-Week Teen Acting for Film Camp – Online

  • Camp Hours: 30 sessions, total 60 hours
  • Campers will leave the program with:

    • Self- written Character Monologue

The New York Film Academy’s 3-Week Online Acting for Film Camp for teens offers young actors the one-of-a-kind opportunity to study the craft of acting with industry professionals in an online platform accessible from anywhere in the world. Held through interactive online classes, the 3-Week Acting for Film Camp gives students an unforgettable experience as they learn the skills and techniques to act both on set and online.

This online intensive program will help develop the skills you need to be a successful actor. Students will learn how to choose and workshop monologues, learn how to write, shoot and produce their own original character monologues, discover how to break down and prepare a script, explore the basic tenets of film acting, and prepare for the business by learning how to self-tape and submit for auditions.  This unique experience is a wonderful way to study at the New York Film Academy with students from all over the world, with the convenience of an online platform.

Monologues – Choosing, Analyzing, Developing, Staging, personal connection, imaginary circumstances, rehearsals, performance.

Acting Technique – Covering Monologues, Scenes, Technique.

Business of Acting/Audition – Basic Self-Tape, Film audition, Auditioning Online, Submissions, Basics of Creating actor websites, Online Presence, Headshots and Resumes.

Online Film-craft for Actors – Basics of at-home shooting and editing.
