The Art of Casting: For Actors and Filmmakers, Media Professionals - Free Acting Workshop

Casting is one of the most crucial elements in the success of any project. It can also be the most stressful. The Art of the Audition is a fully comprehensive Casting Workshop, for both Actors and Filmmakers, which focuses on a variety of key concepts that artists can use to make the most of the Audition Process. Veteran Casting Director Roger Del Pozo will focus on how Actors can Audition Successfully and book more roles and how Directors can use the Audition Process creatively to enhance and elevate their projects.

About Roger Del Pozo

Dan Mackler graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Russian Studies. His thesis on the politics of Eisenstein’s films won the best thesis in 1994. During college he studied twice abroad as an exchange student, first at the St. Petersburg State University in 1991, and later at Budapest school of Economics in 1993. After graduation, Dan worked in Moscow for 5 years, first writing and producing music videos and commercials with top Russian directors and later for McCann Erickson Advertising, running accounts for General Motors, AT&T, and Bacardi-Martini. Dan lived in Chile after Russia, contributing to a photo book on the Chilean countryside called “eye of the condor” . Dan received his MFA in film production from NYU Tisch. He worked as a Russian Consultant for Spike Lee in the “25th Hour”. Dan was a director and cinematographer on dozens of shorts, documentaries and commercials, and his work was selected by several international film festivals. He later directed the feature “The Karaoke King.” Dan began teaching directing and cinematography for the New York Film Academy in 2000. He ran the schools in Disney, London, and in 2003 moved to LA, where he has been and is currently the Director the New York Film Academy College of Visual and Performing Arts.
