Musical Theatre for Kids
The New York Film Academy offers students the life-changing opportunity to learn from Broadway level professionals through our carefully curated Hands-Online programming. Our young students have the opportunity to work one-on-one with teachers whose credits include regional tours, national tours, or Broadway shows of Finding Neverland, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Matilda, The Lion King, Chicago, and more.
Program Description
Camp Name: 1-Week Kids Musical Theatre Camp – Online
Whether the dream is to perform on a Broadway stage, challenge and strengthen performance skills, or gain confidence through self-expression, our musical theatre camps for kids are designed to help young artists flourish. No matter their experience level, our musical theatre campers are sure to learn new things and discover a deeper understanding and love of theatre performance.
Class Descriptions
Performance Lab – Focusing on choosing, developing, staging, personal connection, imaginary circumstances and overall performance in musical theatre song selections.
Musical Theatre Jazz Dance – Students will focus on jazz theatre dance technique and learn Broadway choreography.
Acting Technique – Covering acting technique.
Voice Studio Lab – How the voice works: breath, tone, clarity and health to bring a greater understanding to each student regarding their own mechanism. This class provides the student an opportunity to work assigned songs vocally.
Campers will leave the program with:
- One fully coached musical theatre song
- Choreography from a Broadway musical
- An applied understanding and appreciation of the fundamentals of Acting, Dance, Voice

As this is an online camp, students join from their home. To attend, students should have a reliable internet connection and quiet place to work on their films.
