Digital Photography for Kids at NYFA
Our 2-week online camps challenge kids to bring their stories to life. Students work hands-on with their own digital cameras, such as an iPhone, and learn how to compose, direct, light and edit for quality images.
Program Description
Camp Name: 2-Week Kids Photography Camp – Online
In the first week, campers create a short silent continuity film, and in the second week, students build upon their knowledge to create a film of greater complexity, to be viewed at their end of camp screening.
Class Descriptions
Imaging – Students will learn Lightroom, including the library, develop and web modules
Photo 1 – Camera basics, elements of exposure, and composition rules will be explored. Each week will explore a different genre of photography including, camera basics, documentary, iphoneography.
Photo Games – Students will explore different shooting ideas in a fun and fast paced environment.
Campers will leave the program with:
- Understanding of archiving, and organizing image files.
- Understanding of image processing, camera operation and elements of exposure.
- NYFA flash drive with portfolios/stories of explorations in different genres of photography.
