Study Audition, Voice, and Musical Theatre Techniques
In our interactive, online musical theatre workshops, students develop the skills to excel in the contemporary world of musical theatre, strengthening their audition and performance techniques. While the workshops are designed to be standalone programs that may be taken individually, many students choose to take all three and gain a full spectrum of skills. These programs are available for youth aged 10-17.
Choosing Repertoire Workshop
Every aspiring performer has a personal repertoire of their favorite songs to perform. In this online musical theatre workshop, our Broadway level faculty get to know what makes each student unique and work with them to find exciting new musical selections. This includes in depth discussions of age appropriate roles and effective audition songs. Song selections reflect the individual strength of the performer and each student leaves the workshop with recommendations and sheet music for multiple type-appropriate pieces covering a variety of musical theatre genres.
Acting a Song Workshop
Similar to filmmakers and directors, performers are visual storytellers, using their voice and movement to express themselves and tell a cohesive, compelling story. In this dynamic workshop, students are coached by Broadway-level professionals to bring a musical theatre song of their choosing to life through storytelling elements. The focus of this course will be on exploring the fundamentals of text analysis and personal connection to craft an authentic, honest and unique performance.
Fundamentals of Auditioning for Musical Theatre Workshop
Auditioning is a consistent, ongoing part of becoming a performer. In this hands-on workshop, students learn the fundamentals of auditioning from Broadway level faculty to create unique, compelling auditions that showcase their strengths as singing actors. The focus of this workshop will be on crafting audition material and what to expect in a professional audition setting.
The online workshops are offered after school or on Saturdays. For students that choose to complete a workshop after school, the program will run for one week. The Saturday option runs for four consecutive Saturdays. Students may enroll in all three workshops or select and complete individual workshops. Students are not required to complete one workshop to attend the next. To learn more about class times and tuition, visit our workshop program details page.
