NYFA PROGRAM SEMESTER DATES

All NYFA semesters start on the Monday of the first academic week and end on Saturday of the last academic week. These semester start and end dates act as bookends to your academic semester. 

The first day of class will happen within the first week of the semester, but the exact date may vary depending on your Department and Cohort. Please be sure to always note the “First Day of Class” when viewing the NYFA Academic Calendar or Program Semester Dates. 

Similarly the last day of class will happen within the last week of the semester, but the exact date may vary depending on your Department and Cohort. NYFA students should be aware that the last week of a semester includes end of semester/program screenings/performances and, for students completing their programs, graduation and end of program ceremonies.

For Degree and Conservatory students, New Student Orientation begins on the first day of semester (the Monday of the first academic week) and runs through Thursday. 

New incoming students are expected to arrive at their NYFA Campus no later than the first day of New Student Orientation and be in attendance for the first day of classes.  

Continuing students are expected to arrive back at their NYFA Campus for the first day of classes.

** Costs listed above do not include housing, food, transportation, books, additional necessary supplies or health insurance. Students will also incur additional expenses on their own productions. 2026 Graduation Dates

Certificate and Workshop End of Program celebrations and screenings are scheduled by the Academic Department during the final week of semester generally after the last day of class.
