AFA Degrees in Film, Media, and Entertainment
NYFA’s two-year Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree programs are intensive, fast-paced programs aimed to provide students with hands-on, practical undergraduate training in their chosen field. Most of our immersive programs allow students to complete an undergraduate associate’s degree in four semesters within sixteen months.
The AFA in Filmmaking is a six semester program that students complete in two years. Students focus on the core courses within their major discipline while completing a range of projects that increase in complexity, studying under the guidance and mentorship of industry experts.
Students can choose from our AFA degree programs in Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Producing, Screenwriting, and Game Design, all offered at our NYFA Los Angeles campus.
AFA Degree Programs
NYFA’s AFA curriculum is focused on the discipline and follows a project-based approach, allowing students to completely immerse themselves in their craft. This gives students the framework to gain practical training as they explore their field of study. For more information, visit our course catalog.
AFA students take select History of Performing Arts courses that support the Acting for Film curriculum. Learn more about the course requirements here.
