New York Film Academy (NYFA) is a world-renowned institution in higher education. Through the success of our educational degree programs, certificates, short-term workshops, camps, faculty, and alumni, NYFA has been recognized and awarded for our many achievements.

  • Founded by Jerry Sherlock, executive producer of The Hunt for Red October (1990).
  • A global institution with campuses in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Gold Coast (Australia), and Florence (Italy), as well as additional satellite locations.
  • Short-term or semester-long study abroad programs in Filmmaking and Acting for Film at NYFA Florence, NYFA Australia, Paris, France, and Beijing/Greater China.
  • Have enrolled approximately 3,000 veteran and military-dependent students at our campuses in New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami. All three domestic campuses participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.
