Musical Theatre for Kids

Build Voice, Movement, and Performance Skills

At our musical theatre camps and programs for kids, aspiring performers aged 10-13 with any experience level can pursue their dreams to perform on stage or simply gain confidence through self-expression. During our programs, kids have the exciting opportunity to work one-on-one with our faculty of experienced musical theatre professionals as they explore a wide range of skills in acting, singing, and dancing. No matter their experience level, our students can unlock their inner performer and discover a deeper understanding of theatre. NYFA offers in-person, on-campus summer camps and weekend camps. We also offer online programs on a seasonal basis.

Musical Theatre Summer
Camps: Level I

In NYFA’s level one camps, kids rapidly build fundamental skills for the stage, learning under the guidance of musical theatre instructors with recent professional credits in Broadway, off-Broadway or regional productions that range from Finding Neverland, Beautiful, Phantom of the Opera, Matilda, The Lion King, Chicago, and more.

Students will play games and participate in exercises that support their growth as performers, culminating in a final, dynamic performance for friends and family. While many of our programs are available as level one and level two camps, our musical theatre camps for kids are currently offered as level one programs.

Online Musical Theatre
Summer Camps

NYFA’s online musical theatre workshops are live, interactive experiences where students learn how to choose exciting new musical selections for their personal repertoire and craft authentic, honest and unique performances.

No matter their experience level, our musical theatre campers are sure to learn new things and discover a deeper understanding and love of theatre performance.

After-School &
Weekend Workshops

During this hands-on workshop, students are coached virtually by musical theatre professionals, learning the fundamentals of auditioning and how to create unique, compelling auditions that showcase their strengths as a singing actor.

Students craft audition material, learn what to expect in the audition room and how to perform in a professional audition setting. Currently, our online musical theatre workshops are for youth aged 10-17. These programs are offered during the academic year, and are available as after school or weekend programs.

Alumni Work

Many of our musical theatre camp graduates use their experience at NYFA to pursue a life-long interest and passion for theatre, acting, music, performance, and more.

Please note that the successes of any NYFA alumni are the result of their individual hard work, perseverance, talent and circumstances. The New York Film Academy cannot guarantee that any future graduate will achieve similar success or secure a position in the industry.
