András S. Takács is an award-winning Hungarian documentary filmmaker and journalist, best known as co-creator of the acclaimed series On the Spot with his wife and collaborator, Eszter Cseke. Together, Takács and Cseke have directed and produced over 80 documentaries, filming across five continents and covering topics from revolutions and conflict zones to tribal communities and human rights. Their distinctive approach—working with minimal crew and equipment—has earned international recognition, including the Golden Nymph at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, the Press Freedom Award from the Council of Europe, and the Hungarian Pulitzer Memorial Prize. Their films have aired on major global networks such as BBC World, Al Jazeera America, and ARTE.
