The legendary film director Steven Spielberg is no stranger to Los Angeles, having worked there for over 40 years. He spoke with excited students at the New York Film Academy’s Los Angeles campus (just a short walk from his Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks offices on the backlot) in June 2011.

Spielberg partnered up with award-winning writer Tony Kushner to develop a remake of the classic play and film West Side Story (2021). The film released in theaters with much anticipation, and featured the star of the 1961 original film and actress, Rita Moreno.
