Cooties Doug Brown NYFA

With the Sundance Film Festival in full gear, it’s with tremendous pride we find a producing graduate from one of our NYFA programs, Douglas Brown, showcasing his new film Cooties. Douglas served as co-producer of the horror/comedy film, which stars Elijah Wood and Rainn Wilson. Similar to Zombieland, the film provides laugh-out-loud comedy while, at the same time, not shying away from the gore. The premiere was a monumental success, considering the fact that Lionsgate acquired the film for global distribution! So, for those of you who weren’t fortunate enough to attend Sundance this year, expect to see more traditional viewing options for Cooties sometime this year.

Douglas attended the New York Film Academy via the VA Bill, which he earned for his military service. Many NYFA programs have been approved for the Post-9/11 GI Bill and we proudly participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.
