Lisa Cortés is a producer and director known for The Remix: Hip Hop X Fashion, All In: The Fight for Democracy, and The Woodsman.

Cortés also executive produced Lee Daniels’ Oscar-nominated film Precious. In 2021, her documentary film All In: The Fight for Democracy, which she directed and producer, was nominated for Outstanding Documentary Feature at the NAACP Image Awards and made the Academy shortlist for Best Documentary Feature. Cortés most recently signed a multiyear agreement with Blue Ant Studios. Already in the works with the production studio is an adaptation of Clover Hope’s book The Motherlode: The 100+ Women Who Made Hip-Hop as well as No Retreat, a scripted drama about female Black and Indigenous soldiers fighting in World War II, and Little Apple about a girl growing up in Harlem with special powers.
