Assaad YacoubDIRECTOR | WRITER | PRODUCER

Assaad Yacoub is a director, writer and producer, who attended NYFA’s MFA in Filmmaking program. He has directed a variety of drag queen music videos, including Eureka O’Hara’s “The Big Girl,” BeBe Zahara Benet‘s “Jungle Kitty” and Monet X Change‘s “Soak It Up.” Notably, in 2017 he sold his thesis film “Cherry Pop” to Netflix, where it’s streaming now. The film explores a night in the life of a small local bar’s drag show, where a newcomer struggles with being the outcast on his first night, and a legend comes to terms with life after her last night in drag.
