Roshni Bhatia grew up in Mumbai, India and came to the United States to study filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. She is a sci-fi-fi and horror fan, which has led her to create her horror inspired  short films like Dark Passage and Shadow at the Door.

In 2019, Bhatia was awarded the WINGS Grant by the Zhonta Club of Burbank, allowing her elevate her short film, Plasmid, to continue on to the festival circuit and to focus on her growth as a director. Her shorts have appeared at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival, Morbido Film Fest and Slash Film Festival.
