What’s an Event Callback?
An Event Callback from NYFA is something special. While a typical callback in the industry means being asked to return for another audition, this is different. When our team attends festivals, conventions, and showcases in film, media, and the performing arts, we look for artists whose talent truly stands out.
Our Callback is a chance to get to know the artist and their goals while they learn more about NYFA. It’s a recognition of talent that takes the place of a pre-screen and puts students far ahead before they even apply. While an audition or portfolio is still required for admission, receiving a Callback at an event provides early access to our team, resources, and scholarship opportunities.

Book a private zoom meeting with a NYFA Representative to confirm your callback, learn more about NYFA, and discuss application next steps.
Submit your audition or creative portfolio
Submit your audition or creative portfolio for acceptance and scholarship review. You can upload samples of your work, provide a self-tape audition video link, or schedule a live audition or portfolio review in person or virtually via Zoom. View our admission requirements here.

Submit your application (100%) with or without all admissions requirements completed. Use your callback application fee waiver to apply for free.
Reminder: You’re not officially a NYFA applicant until you click “Submit” and see “100% complete.” Submit now with what you have. You can finalize and update your portal anytime. Once all materials are submitted, you’ll receive an admissions decision and scholarship determination within 2–3 weeks.
