CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY FOR NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY NEW YORK CITY SHORT TERM WORKSHOPS AND ONLINE WORKSHOPS

An applicant has the right to cancel program enrollment and obtain a refund of charges, less a nonrefundable application fee, a processing fee, and any institutional fees that may apply. A notice of cancellation must be submitted via email to the Registrar’s Office and the Bursar’s Office on or before the first day of the program.

The written request must include the following information: applicant name, anticipated program.

REFUND INFORMATION

The following information applies to all NYFA New York students:

  • Students who officially withdraw from all courses on or after the first day of class will be refunded on a prorated basis up to 40% of the semester, or in the case of a short-term program, up to 40% of the program. After 40% of the semester is completed, there will be no refund.
  • The percentage of program completed is based on the number of days within a semester and the withdrawal date. When calculating the number of days in the semester, the weekends and holidays are included.
  • Students must request a refund from the Bursar’s Office by electronic mail.
  • Title IV Financial Aid Funds will be refunded according to the Federal Title IV Refund Formula.
  • NYFA Student Housing is non-refundable.
  • Health insurance through NYFASHIP will not be refunded. Students who withdraw from a program will retain their insurance coverage until the term’s end date.
  • The full refund process can take up to thirty (30) business days. The application fee, processing fee, all credit card convenience fees, and the International Student Fees (ISF) are NOT refundable.
  • A student’s enrollment can be terminated at the discretion of the institution for insufficient academic progress, non-payment of academic costs, or failure to comply with rules and policies established by the institution, as outlined in this Catalog.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY FOR NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY TEEN AND KIDS CAMPS
The following policy applies to all New York Film Academy camps.
To enroll and hold a place in the camp, the student may submit a $500 deposit ($50 for 2 Day Online programs), which is non-refundable and will be applied towards the tuition. Full payment is due no later than 30 days prior to the start of the camp.

If the student cancels enrollment in the camp, the following applies:

  • $500 ($50 for 2 Day Online programs) is not refundable under any circumstances unless the New York Film Academy cancels the program. Program fee (minus the $500 deposit for on-campus or $50 for 2 Day Online programs) are refundable until 60 days prior to the start of the program. No refunds are available after 60 days prior to the start of the program.
  • In order to cancel, an enrolled student must contact our admissions office in writing. Failure to cancel prior to the 60-day deadline will result in a bill for the full program fee.
  • All housing (for on-campus programs only) is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • In the case of visa denials, proof of denial will be required. The $500 deposit is not refundable but can be held as a credit to use within 3 years.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY FOR NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY FLORENCE WORKSHOPS
The following policy applies to all New York Film Academy Florence workshops.
To enroll and hold a place in the workshop, the student may submit a $500 deposit, which is non-refundable and will be applied towards the tuition. Full payment is due no later than 30 days prior to the start of the camp.

If the student cancels enrollment in the workshop, the following applies:

  • $500 is not refundable under any circumstances unless the New York Film Academy cancels the program. Program fee (minus the $500 deposit) are refundable until 60 days prior to the start of the program. No refunds are available after 60 days prior to the start of the program.
  • In order to cancel, an enrolled student must contact our admissions office in writing. Failure to cancel prior to the 60-day deadline will result in a bill for the full program fee.
  • All housing is non-refundable under any circumstances.
