Andy Garcia came to visit students at New York Film Academy’s Los Angeles campus in June 2011. We screened The Lost City, which Garcia directed and produced. Andy spoke a bit about the process an actor must go through when directing themselves in film. He also spoke about his other work, as well as his motivation to work as an actor after fleeing Cuba at a very young age. Andy was very receptive to the students’ questions and was very honest on how difficult the business can be without the proper training. He also spoke a bit about working with Francis Ford Coppola on The Godfather. Andy also took some of his time to take some great photos with the students.
