Voice actor Bob Bergen visited student at New York Film Academy’s Los Angeles campus in November 2011 for a Q&A following a screening of “Space Jam.” When he was five years old, he told his mother he wanted to be the voice of Porky Pig. His mother replied, “Honey, you can’t be Porky Pig. You’re Jewish.” Bergen spent his youth mimicking his favorite cartoon characters, and coming up with characters of his own. He trained as an actor, and studied improv for 3 years – training he called absolutely invaluable for any actor.

He shared insights about the audition process, and how to maintain a successful career through the years. He also taught excited acting students how to do the voice of Porky Pig. He has voiced numerous Looney Toons characters in countless feature films, television shows, albums, toys, and games. He currently stars as Porky Pig in Cartoon Network’s The Looney Tunes Show.
