New York Film Academy welcomed Luana Seu for a special guest lecture and Q&A as part of NYFA’s Photography Guest Speaker Series. NYFA Photography Chair David Mager along with Photographer and NYFA Senior Faculty Member Nancy Burson, curated and moderated the event.

Luana Seu is a Romanian photographer currently based in NYC and Europe. Her background is in the performing arts, where her teenage years were spent competing and winning ballroom dance competitions. She studied in NYFA’s photography program, and her outstanding work has won her prestigious awards, such as the Jurors Picks of the Lens Culture Awards and a final nomination for the ReFocus Awards in Color Photography 2023. Luana’s work has appeared in Forbes, Bloom, Mob Journal, Opium Red, 17:23 Magazine, Men Cruze, and many other international publications.

Luana is nothing less than a powerhouse of creative energy, moving easily from actor, director, and screenwriter to photographer/videographer. The film she co-wrote and starred in is currently in production in London and is scheduled to be released next year.

She recently completed work on a massive project at the First Contemporary Art Fair in Romania, where she used photography combined with AI to capture more than 1000 on-site portraits in a week.
