Learn How to Act for Film at NYFA
The New York Film Academy’s 1-Week Online Acting for Film Camp for teens was designed by our faculty of professional actors to immerse students in the specific craft of acting for film. Through in-class instruction and exercises with your smart devices, students receive ample experience in the principles of acting for film to establish a foundation as actors.
Camp Name: 1-Week Acting for Film Camp for Teens – Online
In our online 1-Week Acting for Film Camp, students get practical training in film acting, learning how to break down scenes and perform on-camera. Students also study topics that may include monologues, improv, as well as the basics of audition technique and intro to the business.
This online acting program is the perfect introduction to Acting for Film. Students will learn how to choose and workshop monologues, apply Acting for Film fundamentals to scenes, learn how to think on their feet in Improv, and practice the basics of auditioning with the Business of Acting. This unique experience is a wonderfully creative way to learn acting on an online platform.
Monologues – Choosing, Analyzing, Developing, Staging, personal connection, imaginary circumstances, rehearsals, performance.
Improv – Students will explore play and storytelling as well as the basic tenets of improv.
Acting for Film – Acting for the frame size, reaction shots, the magic of editing, marks.
Business of Acting/Audition – The basics of audition technique and intro to the business.
Campers will leave the program with:
- Monologue that is polished and ready for performance
- Several taped on camera exercises
- Audition Basics
