Jonathan Samukange, a.k.a “Director O,” is filmmaker from Zimbabwe. Samukange graduated with his BFA in Filmmaking from New York Film Academy’s Los Angeles campus and has since returned to Africa to advance African storytelling. He has had a lot of success early in his career, winning numerous awards for his films Human EncounterAftermathBe Open and Honest in 2019.

In 2020, Samukange filmed his psychedelic reimagining of the story of Adam and Eve for Josh Homme’s Desert Sessions. His music video, “Move Together,” enlisted residents of an entire village and utilized the Zimbabwe region’s stunning natural landscape to create a time capsule and hallucinatory trip through time.
