Viewing and Exporting the NYFA Academic Calendar

Please view your program cohort’s 2026-2027 Academic Calendar by selecting the appropriate program cohort and section from the drop down menu. 

→ What is my Program Cohort?
Your Program Cohort name contains the semester you started your program in, your degree level (MFA, MA, BFA, AFA, Two Year, One Year, etc.), and discipline (Acting, Filmmaking etc.)

→ What is my Section?
Your section is the group you are scheduled to take your Program Cohort classes with. For BFA programs these are listed as 1A, 2A, or 3A. For MFA, MA, AFA, Two Year or One Year programs these are listed as A, B or C. 
All sections of a Program Cohort may share the same Academic Calendar in which case you will see ‘All Sections’ or sections of a Program Cohort will be on unique Academic Calendars and you will see the separate sections listed by your Program Cohort name. 

→ Where can I find out what my Program Cohort and Section?
If you are unsure of your Program Cohort and Section, you can find both where you view your schedule on the NYFA Student Hub. Sign into the NYFA Student Hub using your NYFA Email and look up your schedule under ‘Academic Resources.’ Your Program Cohort and Section are listed at the top of your schedule.

You can view the calendar in two different formats: (1) as a calendar or (2) as a list by clicking on list view

To find out more about an event or institutional deadline, click on the event or deadline to view a short summary and the contact information of the appropriate NYFA Departments with additional information.

NYFA encourages students, faculty and staff to import this academic calendar to their NYFA Google Calendar. You can add the whole academic calendar yo your personal calendar by clicking on the download links top of the page, or download an individual event. To add an individual event to your calendar click into the event, scroll down to the the event description and then click "add to calendar."

1-Week 3D Animation Summer Camp for Kids

Learn 3D Animation at NYFA

At NYFA’s 1-Week 3D Animation Camp, kids aged 10-13 tap into their imagination and explore the exciting world of animation. Students will get an introduction to Disney’s 12 principles of animation, then learn to apply these principles to their own work using the industry-standard software for today’s modeling and animation, Maya.

Program Description

Camp Name: 1-Week 3D Animation Camp for Kids

In the 1-Week 3D Animation Camp, animation campers learn classic animation exercises and create their own content. These exercises include pitching a ball and swinging a hammer to learn squash and stretch, weight and muscle tension, overlapping action, and more. Each camper also writes, directs, and animates their own scene using our pre-rigged character models and sets.

The focus of the camp is on the creative aspects of story development and the application of new animation skills. Students will take classes in 12 Principles of Animation, Walk Cycles, Acting for Animators, Giving Weight and Muscle to a Character’s Movement, Timing and Spacing, Key Frames, as well as Graph Editor.
