Skills at NYFA
At our NYFA Florence campus, students can deepen their appreciation and understanding to Italian culture through the art of still digital photography. In NYFA’s 1-Week Photography Workshop in Florence, Italy, students will experiment and explore photography, developing their unique style and building their portfolio.
Throughout their week at NYFA Florence, students will be introduced to the people, traditions, customs of Italy, allowing the architecture and landscapes to shape and refine their work. Due to the intensive nature of the workshop, students quickly learn the essentials of photography through hands-on experience and rigorous coursework. No prior experience is required to attend.

At NYFA Florence, aspiring photographers develop the skills necessary to research, compose, and capture digital photographic projects. Every day of the workshop, students can expect to be actively shooting, editing, and assessing the images they take, expanding their repertoire of techniques with light and shadow as they work with professional lighting and grip hardware. Students must bring their own digital camera with manual exposure control.
