Manuel BilleterDIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Cinematographer Manuel Billeter has amassed a high-end body of work over the past several years, lensing multiple award-winning series for HBO, Netflix and Showtime.

Billeter has recently wrapped his second season of the HBO hit show The Gilded Age, created by Julian Fellowes.

His feature film debut as Director of Photography Cat Person, a genre-bending thriller directed by Susanna Fogel, starring Emilia Jones and Nicholas Braun, premiered at Sundance 2023.

Notable Netflix shows include Inventing Anna, Ozark and Marvel’s hit noir drama Jessica Jones for Netflix. His cinematography in the first and second seasons set the tone for this dark, gritty series starring Krysten Ritter. The show broke new ground in the movement for gender equality thanks to its second season, which made waves with its lineup of all-female directors for the thirteen episodes.

Previously, Billeter shot the Red Line pilot for CBS and Berlanti Productions and the Run for Your Life pilot for Blumhouse Television and Syfy. Also for Netflix, Billeter shot the critically-praised Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter; and Iron Fist.

Billeter’s additional credits include episodes of: HBO’s And Just Like That, Marvel’s The Punisher; the award-winning dramas The Affair and Orange is the New Black; the dark and stylized CBS vigilante crime-fighting series, Person of Interest (Seasons 1-3, EP: Jonah Nolan, J.J. Abrams), the seminal Dick Wolf show Law & Order (Seasons 18-20); and camera work for films including Lawless (Dir: John Hillcoat, starring Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Mia Wasikowska) and Tower Heist (starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy).
