Designed for students interested in obtaining a BFA in animation, the Academy’s undergraduate BFA animation program offered at our Los Angeles campus is a comprehensive and challenging program that prepares students for the technical and creative skills inherent in the discipline. Students also have the choice to enroll in the Academy’s one-year conservatory animation program in either NYC or LA and can apply for their coursework to be considered as credit in the BFA degree program.
Students enrolling in the BFA animation program can either complete it in three years without taking summer breaks or in four years if summer breaks are taken. The BFA program in animation allows students to follow either a path in 2D or 3D animation and students learn their craft on industry-standard software and equipment.
In addition to an immersive, hands-on education in animation, students enrolled in the BFA animation program are also expected to complete a full Liberal Arts and Science track to acquire the mathematical and critical thinking skills that will help them to realize their career goals. In short, the New York Film Academy’s animation programs ensure that students gain invaluable hands-on experience through the Academy’s unique and demanding curriculum.
