NYFA’s BFA in Acting for Film is offered as an accelerated three-year or a traditional four-year program. By taking the three-year option, students can save one year of study and enter their field of choice a year early. The three-year is possible by allowing students to opt-out of summer breaks.
Prospective acting for film students must submit an application and two recorded contrasting contemporary monologues to apply. To learn more, visit our Audition Requirements page.
Throughout the Acting for Film BFA degree program, students work on various projects that include a voiceover reel, an original final thesis film, and participation in an industry showcase. Additionally, students create a business plan and a professional portfolio, including their headshot, resume, and demo reel. To learn more about the projects that Acting for Film students complete, visit the projects page.
Aside from Acting for Film projects and classes, BFA students also take a full course load in the Liberal Arts and Sciences to support their major and round out their undergraduate education. Prospective students can learn more about BFA requirements on NYFA’s Liberal Arts and Science page.
Students pursuing a BFA in Acting for Film can choose from NYFA’s campuses in New York City and Los Angeles.
