Program Description

Camp Name: 4-Week Acting for Film Camp for Teens

Designed for teens on their summer vacation, NYFA’s full-time, 4-Week Acting Camp fits into most schedules. In the program, aspiring young actors learn essential performance skills in voice, movement, improvisation, and audition technique through assigned monologues and scene study. Students work under the guidance and mentorship of working actors and directors, studying in an environment that reflects the many demands of a film set. They also audition for and act in student films, giving them a considerable amount of time on-camera and preparing them for the unique challenges of the film, entertainment, and television industries.

During the camp, students also perform an assigned monologue and assigned scene in front of the camera, which is shot by our faculty and edited by our in-house production and post-production staff. At the end of the camp, students receive a digital copy of their work. Camp graduates may also invite their family and invited guests to a final screening to showcase their monologue.
