Summer Camp Grad Enters the Ring for First Feature

Allan Unger oversees a fight sceneNYFA high school New York summer camp graduate Allan Unger not only was fortunate enough to recently shoot his first feature-length film, Tapped, but the film was also chosen for distribution by Lionsgate Home Entertainment in America and by VVS Films in Canada.

To former Teen Camp faculty member and associate producer Rob Robol, this news comes as little supervise. According to Robol, “Allan made the best films of any camper I’ve ever seen.”

Starring Michael Biehn (The Terminator, Aliens), UFC champs Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, Krzysztof Soszynski, Nick Bateman (Hobo With a Shotgun), and Martin Kove (The Karate Kid), the film is a drama centered around Canadian Mixed Martial Arts. It tells the story of a difficult and troubled teenager who takes parts in an MMA tournament to face off against the man responsible for his parents’ death.

Produced by Canadian production house Hackybox Pictures and Oriahsphere Entertainment, ran by NYFA alum Alex Lebo, the film was released in 2014.
